There has been quite a rain this morning.
So blissfully I decided to bunk office and spent my day on the bed with four pillows, one blanket, one laptop, lots of food and lots of rom-coms.
'A Christmas Kiss', 'Just like heaven', 'The Notebook', 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl', 'Serendipity', 'Sweet November', 'Sweet Home Alabama' AND fifty grams of munakka, fifty grams of pista, one Amul buttermilk, two packets of Lays chips, muri, chanachur, numerous cups of tea. And I wonder how I could develop only a muffin top in so many years!!
And now that I am so very tired with my day's hard work, I am lying down on my bed and wondering with a smile on my face - why is it that we are so fond of rom-coms. Dunno about boys, but we girls, even the bitchiest of all, go all mushy-mushy on watching these glittery starry love stories.
The plain Jane falling in love with a handsome hotshot, totally out of her bounds.
Or, the Country Boy pledging eternal love for the rich Rapunzel caught up in her tower.
May be all these remind us of the fairy tales we read in our childhood and fantasized beautiful, untainted lives for ourselves. The heart never broke. If it got hurt, there was always the Prince to set everything right. The deserving always won. The fair and the good always happened. Unfailingly.
May be that is why we love them so much.
Because they give us hope; keep reminding us to dream. Love.
Hate is too much of a burden to live with through a lifetime.
So better keep loving and dreaming, even if they aren't for real.
